Always attempt to obtain the highest grade with a BUY rating if affordable. Any coin receiving a score of (8O) and above would be considered a BUY. CoinStats Gold Type Coin Summary
Mint State 63 coins retain the BUY recommendations of last CoinStats -- $1
Gold Liberty Type 1 (unchanged at 94) and $1 Gold Indian Type 3 (unchanged at
90). The single type flagged as a SELL is still the $20 Gold Saint-Gaudens
with Motto (+4 to 40). Four MS 64s are flagged as BUYs, all with unchanged
CoinStats points -- $1 Gold Liberty Type 1 (84), $1 Gold Indian Type 3 (86),
$20 Gold Liberty Type 1 (80), and $20 Gold Liberty Type 2 (84). There is
still a single MS 64 SELL ($20 Gold Saint-Gaudens with Motto, +2 to 44). The
grade with the most BUY recommendations is MS 65, with an impressive total of
9 -- $1 Gold Type 1 (unchanged at 90), $1 Gold Type 3 (unchanged at 82), $2 ¸
Gold Liberty (+4 to 84), $2 ¸ Gold Indian (unchanged at 90), $5 Gold Liberty
(+4 to 84), $10 Gold Liberty (+4 to 86), $10 Gold Indian (+4 to 88), $20 Gold
Liberty Type 1 making its debut at 82, and $20 Gold Type 3 (+4 to 84). MS 66
graded coins are a close second with 8 BUYs. The stratospheric rating of 96
is garnered by both $2 ¸ Gold Indian and $20 Gold Liberty Type 3 in MS 66.
There are 5 BUYs for MS 67, with the newest being the $20 Gold Saint-Gaudens
with Motto (+4 to 80).
The proofs have a dearth of BUYs -- just $1 Gold Indian Type 3 in PR 67
(unchanged at 80 points) and $5 Gold Indian PR 63 (unchanged at 84).
